Pine Springs was a black comedy mystery about an investigation of a murdered girl in the strange town of Pine Springs which is obsessed with hunting and takes place during the hunting festival.

I discussed several directions with the director, initially he wanted a montage poster but as this was a black comedy a lot of the imagery came out looking more like a thriller. So I didn’t think the montage was the way to go, it just didn’t sell the concept effectively. So I came up this concept after going over the onset photo assets and seeing all the tacky dear paraphernalia dotted around in the house etc in the town. So I utilised that aesthetic to create this set of darkly humorous kitsch pottery animal illustrations which have real bleeding gun shot wounds, something that perfectly sums up the storyline in an impactful quirky darkly humorous visual. I created a set of three in total.
