Fatal Exam is the 2nd of 3 designs i did for Vinegar Syndrome’s “Home Made Horrors Vol. 1” box set! Home made horrors is truly and amazing set of lesser known low budget, cheesy, fun, horror flicks, the sort of obscure, laugh along, creature features you dream of finding on VHS. Only now lovingly restored and on beautiful 4k!

So with that in mind i wanted to create some true VHS cover style art for these. I don’t really get to tackle that much horror and VS really gave me the freedom to do something a bit far out. So like all classic VHS horror cover art I wanted to just focus on the creature and also stretched the truth a bit visually, elaborating on the monsters to “sell the sizzle and not the steak” so they are fun artists interpretations of the titles.
