I was approached by Cinecoup (producers) to create the main key art, they wanted something super quick for the first screening at Fantasia though. There was no way a full on montage could be produced effectively in time (with amends etc.) so I suggested doing something more fun and creating a conceptual mash up teaser poster.

As the character in the first poster was based around Dirty Harry I thought it would be cool to then put him in an 80s Cobra mash up, the amazing artwork for which became quite iconic in the 80s and had numerous VHS knock offs for films like; Enforcer II and Double Edge among others, so it had this fun pastiche history to play off of.

So I matched the Cobra pose and then brought in subtle character related touches like the pentagram on the gun butt, beer cans instead of grenades and then having Cobras match stick snapped in his mouth. Adding the aviators sunglasses onto the Wolfcop character seems to have become a thing which has been incorporated into reworked US DVD artwork and many fan art pieces.
