A black comedy, grindhouse, zombie, horror, Christmas film. So I wanted to give the designs humorous twist, I instantly connected the films title with the classic mortuary toe tag image and used that visual to frame the title design. This then enabled me to tell the story of the film from the bottom up, the Cadaver feet and the blanket blend into the snow which leads to the zombies (cadavers) attacking the college where the characters work. I selected the three most visually impactful characters, the Janitor with BLOODY mop, the manic cop and the festive alcoholic.

I don’t think you actually see the College building where the films set so I wanted to depict a generic university building as i felt it would be an integral part of the design which links all the elements together. Its great when you have a destination (building or setting for a designs as it really helps anchor the elements. For the festive touches I didn’t want to make it too cheesy or tacky so i sort of went for a festive twist on the old VHS frame style.
